Solo

Solo Pubuitamana is from the small coastal village of Nakorokula, which we often pass when returning from a day on the reefs. Solo has skippered fishing and dive boats in the waters surrounding his village for 18 years, before which he travelled the South Pacific as a pearler. Solo approaches his job with a quiet confidence born of experience. You’ll most often hear him calling the fish to feed; we’d like to think they listen, but you can be the judge of that. Local knowledge can make all the difference on days when our target species is proving elusive, and the many hours Solo has spent underwater as a dive instructor furnish him with an unbeatable level of intel.

Solo with a GT he skilfully located inshore.
